Creamed corn

Last week , my sis-in-law invited hubby and me to her home in PutraHeight for lunch. Kak Sakinah masak spaghetti bolougnaise dan creamed corn hari tu..First time saya makan creamed corn tau, sedap sgt kak sakinah buat so saya tanya dia mcm mana nak buat. Today I made creamed corn. The outcome: it was creamy and sweet! I totally love creamed corn. I think I can finish the whole can for my own! tapi mestilah tak..pas ni nak gi grocery store to get more creamed corn can!!

Ingredients
1/2 onion
Butter
1 can creamed corn (saya guna ayam brand)
3/4 milk
1/4 whipping cream (optional)
salt
pepper
parsley

Method
Melt butter and bring chopped onion into it, saute well .
Add corn, milk, whipping cream and stir them constantly.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Sprinkle some chopped parsley to add color.

Easy as ABC but yummy to your tummy! You should try this creamed corn recipe too..Enjoy!

Raspberry Clafouti

I get hooked by Eric Ripert's Raspberry Clafouti on youtube, I watched the clip everyday. I checked on raspberries at Isetan and they cost a bomb. I cant resist looking at the delicate and fluffy french dessert images all over people's blog. They tried the recipe and they loved it...It is envious of how easy they can get the raspberries just by picking them up at the garden behind their country homes..I wish I can grow raspberries in my garden, but wait, do I actually owned a garden? Blowinng raspberries to Dira..Hahahha. BTW no matter how muct the raspberries cost, I baked Raspberry Clafouti and it was a whole lot of fun experience!

Ingredients
100g/3½oz plain flour
3 large eggs
few drops vanilla extract
100g/3½oz caster sugar
150ml/¼ pint milk
150ml/¼ pint whipping cream
75g/3oz unsalted butter
350g/12oz raspberries

Method
Preheat oven to gas mark 4/180ºC (170ºC in a fan oven). In a large mixing bowl, add the flour and a pinch of salt, then make a well in the centre. Whisk in the eggs, vanilla extract and sugar. Then whisk in the milk and cream to make a smooth batter.

In a small pan, melt the butter, then let it bubble for a couple of mins, till it’s light golden brown in colour. Whisk quickly into the batter, then pour it into the ovenproof dish. Scatter the raspberries all over and cook for about 30-40 mins, till a skewer comes out clean when inserted into the pud. Sprinkle with extra caster sugar if you like and serve warm with some double cream.

Spooning the raspberry clafouti into my mouth is another wonderful experience. The clafouti is yummy. Other option replacing raspberries are using blueberries or strawberies. I might try blueberries one day! Have a nice evening!

I cant express how much I feel guilty and miserable when dear Ju came to Kino and I was not around! Last Sunday, Ju promised to visit me at Kino with her friend, Honey. I am so happy and excited all morning, waiting for her.."Excuse me miss.." "Excuse me miss" one by one, I've been approached my lady customer but Ju havent appeared yet. I went for lunch at 2pm and hope Ju will come over after 3pm, which is when I finish my break. When I get back to the caunter, I saw a red mesh bag on my desk..."OMG!!!! Ju was here!!" I was shaky when I get hold of the bag..Ju dah dtg..habislaaah akuuuu!!! So I called her several times but she wont pick up..Ah, Ju marah ke? Ah, I'm dead meat! I feel awful, I feel like I didnt keep my promise to my friend and I've gone bonkers on that time! My handphone is not being helpful at all...I'm at the pantry and there was no coverage ! what luck I'm having...I'm still seeking fogivenes from Ju. She havent replied my email and sms yet so I bet you know how I feel this whole week, rite? Miserable, completely! Ju, silalah ampunkan dira..oh juuu!!

BTW, Ju left some goodies for me..I got purple rose corsage and a beauty bar! Ju channn, Dira sukeee itu soap dan corsage..Yippeee..I let Kyora use the corsage on her ponytail.

Mass Ayu..

Sedap plak bile di gabung nama kedua2 kawan blogger saya..Sorang bernama Mass sorang lagi Ayu..hee hee.. comel je. Hari ni nak cerita pasal Birthday gift yang mereka send untuk saya, ye ye, memang dah lama berlalu tapi saya sgt sibuk lah smp tak sempat nak menSnap gambar gift dari mereka. Mula2 saya dapat gift dari mass. Dalam parcel yg mass beri ade penyental ketika mandi berbentuk parrot, purse strawberry warne putih dan pin Hello Kitty. Lagi satu ialah wooden jewelry box yang teramat lah kejepunan ok! Sebabnye ade tulisan jepun atas nye yg saya ofcourse lah tak tau ape maksud die dan ade munge2 sakura yg comel.

Tadaaa...Inilah Ringo bersama box yg mass beri..Box ini boleh di jadikan untuk letak aksesori tapi Ringo ckp dia nak lipat baju simpan dlm drawer ini (oh mentang lah jewelry box ni petie so boleh lah Ringo panggil box ni Drawer!)..Bila difikir2, oh, Ringo mana ada baju2 untuk dilipat. 24 jam Ringo pkai baju yg sama..Kalau pkai baju kaler purple, dah tak leh panggil Ringo lah..kene panggil Barney ke grape ke..kekekeke..

Satu lagi kejepunan ialah gambar usagi ni..Comel kan? Comel kan? Terima kasih mass moosoozoo yang memberikan gift yg cute2 nii..Mass sgt lah sweet!! Muaah!! Ayu pun beri mcm2 gift yang cute..Semua gift ayu diletakkan dlm bag polka dot yg comel niiih!

Dalam nye ada handmade card berbentuk cupcake..OOh sgt suke dgn ichigo tu..comeeeel! Selain itu ada notepad Mickey Mouse dan tumbler ichigo..oh kamu semua mmg suka beri barang-barangan ichigo sebab saya happy ichigo kan? sgt prihatin..! sayang nye kepada kamu semua!!

Oh pinky nye..Ayu ade juga beri Hello Kitty Kettai strap dan pencil case..Sgt generous lah ayu! Sgt terime kasih ye dear..syg ayu sbb ingt gak birthday dira walaupun Ayu hantar gift ni lambat dah..Ok lah saya mahu membaca (lagi)..Esok mahu berjumpa Ju Chan rase sgt happy..Ok semua..Ta ta!

What led you pick up this book: Oliver Jeffers is coming over to Kinokuniya KLCC this Saturday so I must read his picture book.

Plot Summary: The animals’ homes are disappearing. Tree by tree, the forest is being cut down. Clues! There must be clues. For instance, look—there is a mysterious bear carrying an ax! But what would a bear want with so many trees? Perhaps the discarded paper airplanes littering the forest floor have a story to tell?

What you like the most about this book: I love the adorable illustration, the vivid colors and the charming storyline. A bit of mystery here and there, a perfect picture book for a curious kid!The message of this book is: recycle paper, dont chop down to many trees..It is not good to our mother nature. Thank you Oliver Jeffers for reminding us kids and adults to save trees..Yeay, lets hug trees, everyone!

Tell us your biggest musical regret.

I regret of not learning any musical instruments when I was younger. At 9, my late father signed me up for a piano class at Yamaha Music Center but during those days, I was too stubborn to go any music classes. The reason is because I hate my primary music teacher, she was horrifying, a very stern and wrathful old lady who will smack down her recorder to those who don't memorize the music notes she taught. Some students bleed their head, seriously! I hate music classes at school and I don't want any additional music classes. For me, music class was torturing time (that is what I felt those days) There is a keyboard at home but never been touched, it was my 9y/o birthday gift from my father but I never try to learn. I think I should go to any music center to learn any music instrument. I dont know why but I wish I could learn to play the drum! Grin!

Hello all..sejak kebelakangan ni asyik nak menreview shj..Ye lah, nama pun keje kat bookstore maka mestilah asyik membaca buku. Kadang kala bile di rumah membaca buku, akan di tegur mak asyik mengadap buku nanti betul2 jadi ulat..Saya ckp kat mak "Laaa, dah kerja dira kena baca buku..." Mak kata "Ye lah tu!!" Ahahha, org ingat baca buku tu senang, buat review tu senang tp saya rasa mcm nak nangis je..Previous review dah siap dah, editor pertama, Marineko dah edit kan (arigatou marineko sensei!!!), boss pun dah approve tinggal nak tunggu ketua editor nye shj..Seram gak! Blum tau approve ke tidak, boss dah bagi buku baru untuk di review kan! Ooooh!!!

Ok ok, saya bukan nak ckp pasal review buku, review drama ke tp nak citer pasal hari ni saya buat orange jelly yg yum yum! Dulu saya ingt lagi masa kecik2 saya ada mkn jello orange slices kat birthday party rumah kawan. Sejak hari tu saya mmg suka jell-o. Semalam Hubby beli jelly kristal oren cap nona pastu hari ni beli oren sunkist, apelagi, saya pun trus lah buat jell-o orange slices tp sbb bukan guna jell-o, jelly saya hari ini namanya ialah Oren Cik Nona Manis.

Inilah jelly yang echum kun beli..dia sgt suka mkn jelly dan pudding dan sebabkan puan ichigo sgt tak sempat nak buat maka echum kun bli je jelly segera..clap clap clap! Harga nye hanya rm2 lebeh klu jell-o harga nye dlm rm7 kat Isetan!

Mula2 saya belah oren sunkist kepada dua..Dalamnya saya keluarkan elok2 dan boleh di makan dan di buat fresh orange. Pastu saya sediakan jeli orange nona dan masukkan kedalam orange yng di belah tadi. Masuk dlm fridge selama beberapa jam dan bila dah siap, boleh lah dipotong seperti memotong oren biasa dan di makan.

Senang aje nak buat kan? Dan sangat seronok bile memakanye, mcm makan oren betul!! Weekend lepas, Hanah chan dan Azu kun datang ke rumah saya. Sebab papa mereka nak guna internet, maka mereka sekeluarga melepak2 di bilik saya. Habis lah bilik saya di gelodah mereka..Jumpe bear dioarang jerit keriangan..Hana chan jumpa hand Fan, terus lah dia buka dan menari ala geisha sambil kelip mata banyak2 (saya gelak giler) dan azu kun suka lompat atas kati saya..Ahahha, habislah katil aku!

Ini lah gambar baru Hana Chan dan Azu kun..sangat lah suka rambut hana chan, saya panggil dia anak patung! Hana chan dah masuk tadika dan die semakin fasih berbahasa melayu..Azu kun plak hanya pandai panggil Mama..! Bile diorang penat, saya pun keluarkan cam dan amek gambar mereka..Diorang ni pantang tgk camera! Hana suka posing, dalam sesaat je dia dah pose mcm2 style smp gambar jd blurry sebab pergerakkan die yg laju! Kak Sakinah pula dia suke berbual pasal Jdorama so kitorang cerite pasal Hana Yori Dango..Best ada sis-in-law yg kamceng kan? Ok lah, masa untuk membaca buku lagi..Jumpe nanti2 yek?Bye2!

What led you to watch this dorama: I love movies and dramas about food, this one about Japanese Snacks so I assume this drama will make me drool!

Plot Summary: (from Wiki) Ando Natsu, whose dream is to become a patissiere, finds herself jobless after the shop owner’s sudden death. She goes to Tokyo in search of another job at a confectionery but the recruiting period has just ended and there are no available positions. This is when she makes her first encounter with the well-established Japanese confectionery “Mangetsudo”. It is run by the veteran confectioner Umekichi, Takezo, and Mitsuko, and they happened to be looking for a part-time worker. A number of chance events follow and Natsu starts working at Mangetsudo. Although her job is to serve customers, Natsu becomes interested in the world of Japanese confection. Having only worked in cake shops, everything is new to her and she is gradually drawn into the deepness and profoundness of Japanese confection. --TBS

What do you like most about this dorama: Originaly from manga,this dorama is about Ando Natsu struggling to be a Japanese Snack Master. Everyday she learns how to make new scrumptious snacks and dishes to sell in her landlady's snack shop located in Asakusa, Tokyo. The neighbourhood is very beautiful with temples and gardens, welcoming Ando Natsu (she is not from Asakusa) as well as the viewers. Along the way, she meet neighbours and friends who are in trouble and with her artistic talent of making snacks, she make all the trouble at ease and her snacks make them smile. Every seasons, the snack shop will produce different snacks that represents any festivals that held on that particular seoson. The best part is when Ando Natsu enter the Japanese Snack competitions, suspenseful! The dorama is heartwarming and I learn lot of Japanese culture and aestethics!

Will you recommend this dorama to the other: This dorama has its moments that make me smile and make me cry. Although its good, I found it is too slow and draggy at some point that made me snooze.

Yo! BRIT Awards is coming over this 18th Feb... The nominees are rad, to list here are too tedious but some of my favourites are Radiohead, The Streets and Adele. High hopes and anticipation on them, may they strike some awards that night! What's your choice? My MM this week is by Florence and the machine, the best new act of 2009. The song is Kiss with A fist, suitable for Valentines but far from lovey-dovey and mushy song! Happy belated Valentines (ah now I remember! I didnt post any valentines related entry in my blog..No wonder I felt someting missing!) and enjoy the music!

New Layout

Hello friends..I have a new layout and I think it's fab! Tell you the truth, my older blog looks overcrowded with unnecessary links and I need to get rid of them. Since I've started blogging, I changed 4 layouts (only) till present. First it was an anime layout, Azumanga Daioh. On that time, I was in Uni and I was addicted to anime, jrock and jdorama. I linked my blog to my favorite Anime listing(right bar), its called The anime Fanlisting, TAFL and i don't feel I want to delete them even some of the listing is currently unavailable! Should I delete the links? Ah, after some thinking I archived them here! The second layout was the kitchen layout, I really adore the design and most of my readers already miss that comfy country kitchen layout. But since the html is broken, I have to change to the new customizable layout. Not really liking it so here's the latest one..Nice, clean and crisp with elegant English Victorian touch. Same as The Girl with Dragon Tattoo, this novel is turned into a movie. My boss chose this title for March Gem Of The Month. I hope she'll accept my review.

Banana Pudding The Traditional Southern Way

Hari ni Sabtu, ingat hubby off rupenye dia ada kursus plak..aiseh dok umah lah sorang2. Teringat plak minggu lepas saya asyik tgk resepi kat youtube, bahan2 dah bli so saya pun hari ni buat lah Banana Pudding. Sekarang ni kan tgk giler wat pudding, lagipun hubby adalah hantu pudding, slalu minta saya buat pudding, sengeh mintak..har har har! Clip banana pudding ni saya letak bawah ni. Terimakasih lah pakcik scott, resepi banana pudding pakcik memang sodaaap..!

Untuk base, saya guna Vanilla mini biscuit Sniggles. Nak cari vanilla biscuits yang Malaysia nye tak jumpe pun..Slalu orang USA yg saya check resepi banana pudding diorang slalu gune Nilla Biscuits tapi saya tak jumpe plak..Sniggles ni biskut dr Holland.

Inilah base pertama, clown, base kedua banana, ketiga pudding dan topping dia ialah meringue.

Ginilah rupa bentuk banana pudding yang saya wat arini..Perlu diletakkan ke dalam freezer supaya dia sejuk dan dingin dan sedap di makan..Bile di rasa, tak perlu susah2 carik biskut vanilla pun tak pe, gune biskut ape2 ade pun rasanya mesti ok gak..Yang penting pudding die mst best! Lepas ni nak carik resepi best2 kat youtube lagi nak buat..yeaaayyyy!!!

Korang penah dgr tak brand ni..? Saya beli foundation ni masa saya umur 19 tahun dan sampai sekarang casing dia saya simpan! Sbb brand ni dah discontinue atau kat Malaysia dah takde jual. Dulu saya bli make up Wet N Wild skat Watsons sbb tammo sama ngn kawan2 lain yg suke sgt Maybelline. Last2 Wet N Wild jadi Silky Girl, cilakaak sungguh!!!! Sbb WnW dah takde so saya bli foundation brand lain (slalunya ZA New Your!) dan masuk kan dlm casing Wet N Wild! Saya sgt sayangkan casing ini..ada mcm2 kenangan tau! Tgk...ada sticker majalah Gempak tuu!
