Title and author of the book: Finn Family Moomintroll by Tove Jansson
Genre: Children Literature
What led you to pick up this book: For the past few months, I enjoyed sending and receiving postcards from Postcrossing Forum. I received a beautiful Moomin postcard from Finland and it made me search for infos about Moomin. I found this website and I fall in love with the Moomin characters. Moomin are the most famous children illustration/comic for children in Finland. I share my interest with Marineko and for this year's birthday, she was so kind to get me this book as a gift!
Plot Summary: Poor little chap! He had been turned into a very strange animal indeed . . . Although they're small, fat and shy creatures, Moomins have the most amazing adventures. It all begins when Moominpappa tries on a magic hat that makes exciting and funny things happen . . .
What do you like most about this book: Its simplicity yet amazing storyline bring us to the Moominvalley where the first chapter intoduces the family of the Moomin Blue House. Moominmamma, moominpappa, Moomintroll and their friends, Sniff, Snuffkin and Muskrat who at first came to visit them but as the home is peaceful and fun, they remain there as the Blue House residents! Blow-by-blow characters of this book are charming as some said that Moomin is the Finnish version of Winnie the pooh! The story eventually is about a big black hat which the Moomin gang accidentaly found on top of the Moominvalley Hill. They took the hat to their home and never they knew that the hat will bring so many surprises that nobody can ever imagined! An egg dropped in the hat and a fluffy white cloud went out from the hat! They plonked theirselves on the cloud and it moved swiftly around the Moominvalley. The hat dropped in the Moominvalley river and the the river turns to a ruby red raspberry juice! So many things happen to them and I really enjoyed the story! Their adventures are full of excitement and it left me flabbergasted reading the whole chapters in one sitting!
Will you recommend this book to the other: For children and for people who appreciate children books...
